I was able to visit NYC this week, and attended TEDxBroadway. It was an amazing and inspiring experience. So many interesting ideas and issues were brought up. Having never actually seen a show on broadway I still found the issues compelling and engaging. One of the biggest questions that was brought up is the difference between experiencing live performance versus experiencing a live-stream telecast or other digitally accessible performance mediums.

There is clearly room for both. Increasing the ability to attend/experience shows is something that all of the arts need to consider. Having and maintaing a web presence seems obvious (and is what I’m currently attempting) but making exiting and enjoyable content is a huge priority for arts organizations and programs.

More details about my NYC experience to follow soon!
